We are excited to announce the hiring of Ellie Grossnickle as a loan officer in our Bel Air, Maryland office. Learn more about Ellie and how she fits into the Farm Credit family:

1. She grew up on a dairy farm and still milks cows

“I grew up, and continue to reside, on our family-run dairy farm in Frederick County. We milk 160 Holsteins, and I love to help raise the calves with my mom. My favorite cow on the farm is named Winifred; she’s eight years old, and my parents would argue she’s a little too tame! We have also taken up a hobby each year to tame the farm kittens all and get them ready to be given away. Last year we rescued and bottle fed two that we ended up not being able to part with, named Weebie Panda and Smoky Peach.”

2. She is a 2018 Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement scholarship winner

“Receiving my scholarship at the annual banquet was one of my first experiences with Farm Credit, and I was very impressed to see the bonds between the members and their dedication to rural America. That experience is one that has drawn me back to continuing to work with Farm Credit.”

3. She is royalty and presidential

“I served as the 2015-2016 Maryland Dairy Princess, and then as the 2016-2017 Maryland FFA State President. I think that ag literacy and understanding where food comes from is vital education that many children and adults miss out on. These two positions allowed me to communicate my knowledge and passion for agriculture to various audiences.”

4. She was previously a Farm Credit a loan officer intern

“Last summer, I was a loan officer intern for Farm Credit of the Virginias. Although I was supposed to be working in the Rocky Mount office, I ended up working remotely (which was just as well since I love my summers on the farm). My internship with them inspired me to continue on with Farm Credit!”

5. She is a proud Hokie

“I graduated from Virginia Tech in December of 2020 where I majored in dairy science with a minor in communications. One of my favorite things about VT was attending the football games in Lane Stadium and jumping to Enter Sandman. Go Hokies!”

We look forward to introducing Ellie to our members and sharing her knowledge and experience with local agriculture. If you are interested in working for Farm Credit, visit mafc.com/careers today.
