Connie Small, Westminster Loan Officer

She grew up working on both her grandparents’ dairy farms

“I consider myself very blessed to have grown up close enough to ride my bike to both my paternal and maternal grandparents’ farms. Even though one farm was in Pennsylvania and the other in Maryland, I was able to spend lots of time there. Fun and hardworking summers were spent helping to feed calves, pigs, chickens, and cows. Forking silage, unloading wagons of hay, and driving tractors became part of my days as well. I learned a few home lessons too – like cooking, canning, and sewing. My dad had two small poultry houses at the time. Spreading shavings before flocks were delivered and shoveling it back out once the flocks left was not a whole lot of fun. Thankfully, things are done much differently today.

She worked as a Relationship Manager for 33 years

“I began working in banking all those years ago as a ‘second job’ for extra funds, and I could have never imagined that I was going to make a career out of it. But, I’ve always loved helping people, and banking is a place I could do that. I enjoy helping businesses with their financial needs and was able to squeeze in some accounting and credit courses along the way. When the opportunity knocked for me to work solely with production agriculture and agri-business clients, I was thrilled to. I look forward to continuing that passion here at Farm Credit.”

She enjoys spending time with her family

“Having two teenagers keeps us busy. We do our best to not miss any school band events, track and field, or cross country meets. You’ll find me pulling weeds, gardening, or working on projects around the house in my spare time. Occasionally, we may even have time to attend a car show in our 1932 Plymouth my husband and I turned into a street rod many years ago. Our one son inherited the “car” gene and is working on a car of his own, while our other son is seeking a career in music.”

She gives back to her local community

“I’m currently the Treasurer for my church and Secretary for our local school Music Boosters.”

We look forward to introducing Connie to our members and sharing her knowledge and experience with the community. If you are interested in working for Farm Credit, visit mafc.com/careers today.
