The Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement announced the five organizations in MidAtlantic Farm Credit’s footprint that will receive funding from Phase 2 of their Community Education Program:
- Delaware Farm Bureau Foundation Ag Education Mobile Lab $10,000
- Center for Dairy Excellence Foundation $10,000
- Kutztown Area High School $1,250
- Maryland Agricultural Education Foundation $10,000
- Virginia 4-H Horse Program $3,000
“We are happy to be able to continue supporting the future of agriculture through our Community Education Program,” says Tony Ill, Chairman of the Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement. “The funding provided from this program will allow our community members have access to agricultural education opportunities, especially during this unprecedented time.”
Organizations that support agriculture education in MidAtlantic Farm Credit’s territory were encouraged to apply for funding in two different options, up to $2,000 and up to $10,000, depending on the size and scope of their request. The Foundation’s Board of Directors reviewed the applications and chose the five selected organizations to receive funding based on their alignment with the values and mission of the Foundation.
The non-profit Foundation was established in 2015 and is funded by participating association MidAtlantic Farm Credit. The Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement also runs a Student Scholarship Program that awards $100,000 each year.
