We at MidAtlantic Farm Credit have announced the names of students who have been selected to receive a total of $18,000 in scholarships for continuing their education at the college level. Twelve scholarships, four each in the amounts of $2,000, $1,500 and $1,000, will be awarded at our annual meetings in April.
Each year, we offer scholarships to high school seniors or students currently enrolled in a two- or four-year institution, whose parents or guardians are members of our cooperative association. The applications are evaluated based on selection criteria such as the students’ record of scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities and letters of recommendation.
The 2013 scholarships winners are: Keenan Albee of Reisterstown, MD; Morgan Alexander of Berryville, VA; Joseph Coshun of Union Bridge, MD; Shelby Dukes of Laurel, DE; Andrew Hilsher of Elizabethtown, PA; Jake Jones of Milford, DE; Rachel Kirkhoff of Bernville, PA; Rachel Russell of Gore, VA; Amanda Smith of Kearneysville, WV; Sydney Tyler of Frederick, MD; Leslie Well of Quarryville, PA and Macie Willoughby of Middletown, DE.
“In today’s society, an education is priceless, yet tuition can be expensive,” says MidAtlantic Farm Credit Senior Vice President of Marketing, Sandy Wieber. “Therefore, we are pleased to be able to award scholarships to deserving students who will be our future workforce.”
If you are interested in applying for one of our 2014 scholarships, applications will be available online and in all offices in mid-October.
