Partnership for Crop Insurance

Crop Insurance Partnerships

MidAtlantic Farm Credit and Crop Insurance

When the Farm Service Agency stopped selling crop insurance in 1997, it became necessary for farmers to rely on private insurance companies for their crop insurance needs. Farm Credit understands agriculture and became involved so farmers would have a reliable source of crop insurance.

It is Farm Credit's goal to offer each farmer all levels of coverage for the crop insurance products that are available. Armed with this information, the farmer can select the level of coverage that is best for him/her. Farm Credit places its crop insurance through Rain and Hail, LLC and Rural Community Insurance Services to meet the needs of every farmer.

Rain and Hail, LLC

Rain and Hail, LLC is the originator of "PREMIER SERVICE" and the industry leader for the past decade. It is also an employee-owned managing general agency, comprised of eight U.S. division offices, one in Canada and one in Brazil.

Rain and Hail, LLC is committed to providing meaningful risk management programs to rural America established through their standards of expertise and innovation. Since 1919, the company that evolved in Rain and Hall, LLC has believed in long term commitment, stability and performance to make them a leading crop insurance underwriter. They are able to demonstrate this commitment through specialization in tailored crop insurance plans with localized impact.

Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS)

Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) has been providing insurance on more than 130 crops under a variety of plans since 1980 in order to protect America’s farmers and ranchers. They have helped to completely redevelop the business of crop insurance by offering a line of crop insurance services and products, as well as the addition of coverage for new crop varieties as they are introduced. These specialized underwriters work hard to develop newly tailored insurance coverages based on these unique requirements.

RCIS currently conducts business in all 50 states and are members of National Crop Insurance Services and the Crop Insurance and Reinsurance Bureau, Inc.
