MidAtlantic Farm Credit will be awarding $18,000 in scholarships to those who are planning to attend or are currently enrolled as full-time students at a college, university, or technical school. The deadline for all applications and supporting materials is January 15, 2016.

MidAtlantic Farm Credit recently announced the hiring of Allison Conick as a loan officer, based in the association’s Salisbury, Maryland office. Conick will report directly to Stuart Cooper, regional lending manager for MidAtlantic Farm Credit. The two-year educational program is available to young, beginning, small, and minority farmers located in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia, who are interested in broadening their financial and management skills as they look to develop. Crop insurance agents at area lender MidAtlantic Farm Credit want to remind producers that important fall sales closing dates are approaching for purchasing crop insurance. Wheat and barley sales close on September 30, pasture rangeland and forage (PRF) close on November 15, and orchard and vineyard close on November 20.
